How to Make Detox Water

Today I will tell you How to make Detox Water because keeping ourselves hydrated is extremely important in the scorching heat we will be exposed to. Summer is at our doorsteps… Don’t know about you but I am definitely not a big fan of this season. Also perhaps because I loose my appetite in this season. Instead I constantly look for coolers, smoothies, water….. and especially…. Detox Water. This water is lot like regular water but what if I tell you that regular water can have other health benefits too!

Detox water which is also known as infused water. As the name suggests this water is infused with fruits, vegetables and herbs in order to add their nutritional values into the water. Detox water have many health benefits like weight loss, increasing energy levels, removing body toxins, better digestion and many more. However the health benefits depends on the ingredients that we would put in our water.

We already know that drinking water helps in increasing metabolic rate which ultimately leads to weight loss because it helps in burning fat. But what could be better if the water gets infused with the nutritional values of veggies, fruits and herbs. It is also believed that this detoxification recipe is helpful for weight loss because it has less calories as compared to that of in any other soft drink, coolers or even juices. Let’s discuss what are the possible ways to prepare detox water and what are their benefits.


I will now tell you how to make Detox Water at home. So all we need to do is add some vegetables or fruits with some herbs into a glass or a jar of water and let it rest for at least 2 hours. You can make your glass/jar of this infused water and store it in refrigerator to make it even more refreshing in summer. It is my recommendation that do not store this for more than 12 hours else it will start to decompose.

What are the Benefits of Detox Water:-

The benefits of Detox Water includes:-

  • Boosts immunity

The benefits vary with the combination of vegetables, fruits and herbs selected. I have mentioned my favourite combinations for my detoxification of body and the nutrients present in it:-

  • Cucumber, Lemon Ginger and Mint:-
    Cucumber is rich in vitamin A, B and C and is rich source of antioxidants. Antioxidants inhibits oxidation. Ginger helps in fat burning and is also good for stomach. Lemon and mint helps in digestion. Vitamin A in cucumber boosts immunity; helps in skin problems like acne, controls oil secretion and skin pigmentation, it also helps body organs like heart, kidney, lungs to function properly. Vitamin B helps in optimal functioning of nervous system. Vitamin C helps in improving immunity, boosts the skin collagen making your skin appear firmer.
  • Watermelon and Mint:-
    Watermelon has vitamin A, B6 and C. So this is going to increase your energy levels because of vitamin C, helps in getting clear and firmer skin. It has good amount of potassium and antioxidants. Vitamin B6 helps in improving mood and also reduces symptom of depression, it promotes brain health, it also helps in reducing the risk of heart disease.
  • Apple and Cinnamon:-
    Apple is rich with vitamin A, K and also has potassium. Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, lowers blood sugar level, reduces the risk of heart disease, and helps in burning fat.
  • Orange and Blueberry:-
    Oranges have antioxidants and are rich in vitamin C. On the other hand blueberry too have vitamin C and K. Vitamin K helps in regulating blood calcium levels. Blueberry also helps in lowering down blood pressure. So I suggest this combination of water for elderly people a lot more.

This Infused Water is not just easy to prepare but also refreshing.
